The Pandolfo Family
A beautifully grown pine tree, a perfectly positioned pickup truck, and a bunch of smiley faces— the Pandolfo family really know how to take a good holiday photo! Christmas is right around the corner, and I’m super excited to highlight a few gems from this November session.
It’s no surprise when clients know exactly what they want their scene to look like. From the location to the wardrobe, Cathy, Michael, Kimberly and Dylan are no exception. What better location is there than the comfort of their own front yard? Although November’s temperatures had significantly dropped, this family smiled in a fashionable style. Michael, Cathy (and Bella) sit together in the center. Their darker hues are anchored by the full-bodied reds of Dylan’s little “big” coat and Kimberly’s knit scarf.
On a personal note, this session was a new experience. In the past, I’ve waded comfortably in the waters of candid photography. A wide-eyed newborn? Piece of cake. A 12-year-old who’s modeled before? Stupendous.
Now, insisting a young child to sit still can prove difficult especially when there’s a toy truck to play with before the sun sets. Throw an energetic dog on the scene and it’s a fun formula to poise. A key takeaway— and a footnote for next time— increase that shutter speed because an idle child will almost always be fleeting!
But we captured the smiles we wanted and the moments they’ll cherish. Until next time, happy holidays.
